John Mark Lucas

John Mark Lucas has his undergraduate degree in Painting from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, and his Masters in Painting from New York University.

He was a figurative painter until a hit-and-run accident confined him to his NYC apartment for over a year. During that time, he began to take care of some long-neglected plants in his kitchen window. As they, and he, began to recover, he saw the lifeforce coming back to the plants and started to paint again.

Today, John continues to paint plant life. You may think he is painting flowers, but he is still painting the lifeforce he came to know during his convalescence.
