John Peaspanen

Artfolios Artist

John Peaspanen is a lifelong artist whose work draws from a wide range of influences. He has studied and assimilated ideas, techniques and mediums, to translate into his own unique, personal visions. From Japanese woodblock prints, fashion design and cave art to Impressionists, classic pin-ups and modern commercial art, he has found fascination and inspiration in everything he views. The artist, who is largely self-taught, works today primarily in acrylic, pastel and colored pencil, although he has delved into other mediums and created carvings, sculptures, and Native American beadwork, jewelry, leatherwork and replicas. To keep things fresh, Peaspanen does not stick to any one theme, medium or style, allowing inspiration to guide what he creates. As such, his artwork is very eclectic and fluid. After many varying careers that included journalist, florist, bartender and tattooist, he has spent the last several years finally devoting himself to art full-time.
