About the Artwork: This was one of the first vertical paintings in a series entitled "Chasms, canyons and corridors." Derived from childhood experiences in New York City, the work explores spatial conditions, color relationships and paint quality. It is an exploration of contrasting energies: hard edge vs. soft edge, thin vs. thick, rational vs. random.
