Red, White, Black & Blues , 2021
Artist: Terri Dowell-Dennis
About the Artwork: This artwork grew from my interest in using the silhouette to investigate ancestry and American history. As a white woman, I am keenly aware that racism penetrates deeply into our personal pasts. This artwork is, in part, an acknowledgement that we who people this continent share a past that requires all of us to work as healing agents.
Media: Printed found fabric, cotton fabric, embroidery floss
Dimensions: 43.5" wide by 47.5" tall
