About the Artwork: With this piece I wanted to represent Mr. Crocker’s commitment to improving the education of all children and his willingness to stand in the gap while holding together the necessary components to complete such a monumental task. In order for work of this magnitude to be accomplished, one must tear oneself apart giving all for the betterment of others. Additionally, one must have sincere care of, openness to, and heart for others. In this abstract interpretation of interconnectivity, Mr. Crocker is firmly grounded; his hands extend off the canvas to illustrate his enduring legacy; and his beautiful soul shines.
