About the Artwork: From the body of work entitled "cur•rent [ kur-uhnt ] flow marked by force or strength." I sought to explore the currents that shaped the cityscape of Winston-Salem, as well as, the currents that flow today within the city. Specifically, I selected three iconic traffic patterns from the city. Paint colors and textures were informed not only by the locations but also by the planes that formed from the division of space. These works are a nod to the great field painters of the past. Location is Salem Parkway and I-40.
