Modulation I, Blue, AP, 1968

SKU: 48004

Artist: Anne Kesler Shields

About the Artwork:  In the early 1960s Shields was heavily influenced by the work of Joseph Albers at Black Mountain College and his theories of color relativity, intensity and temperature. By making subtle changes in the background color, Shields created the illusion that the dots are different colors, when in fact they are not. She experimented with Op Art throughout the 1960 and her work was represented by Associated American Artists Gallery in NYC. Signed.
