About the Artwork: I create vibrant textiles full of texture and color—made entirely from recycled materials like plastic shopping bags, wires, old clothing, and holiday decorations. Sustainability is at the core of my creative practice, allowing the transformation of trash to treasure into a unique weaving full of joy and hope. Is Your Refrigerator Running? was made on a rigid heddle loom and is part of my “Loom & Doom” series. The weft is made with white, green and blue plastic shopping bags and protective film from a new fridge, bound together with a lavender and red warp.
