About the Artwork: I create vibrant textiles full of texture and color—made entirely from recycled materials like plastic shopping bags, wires, old clothing, and holiday decorations. Sustainability is at the core of my creative practice, allowing the transformation of trash to treasure into a unique weaving full of joy and hope. Sea Turtle Graveyard was made on a rigid heddle loom and is part of my “Loom & Doom” series. The weft is made from various shades of blue, white, and tan plastic shopping bags, bound together with a rose, purple, white, yellow, and red warp.
