About the Artwork: Over the past decade I’ve focused on capturing scenes in which women are caught in the act of moving, marching, floating, coming or leaving. Transition interests me. Finding movement inside a still frame does too. What I aim to capture is the paradox that photographs provide proof of what disappears. Proof + Disappearance is a collection that also reflects my abiding desire to create as a means into discovery, metaphor, and the present moment. Each image is a translation of my questions and writings enacted during forays into the real world where I live. The series reflects my abiding love of the figure, gesture, narrative, people in action and also as metaphors.
