About the Artwork: The piece was inspired by a workshop with Michele Mischkulnig. It is made by layering silk of various colors and fusing them to each other and involves heavy quilting to form the shapes. When you begin you have no idea where you will end up. As I was working, the trees began to evolve and I see a rich forest filled with rich colored leaves and twirling vines. Accent leaves were created and appliquéd to reinforce the concept.
