About the Artwork: I create vibrant textiles full of texture and color—made entirely from recycled materials like plastic shopping bags, wires, old clothing, and holiday decorations. Sustainability is at the core of my creative practice, allowing the transformation of trash to treasure into a unique weaving full of joy and hope. $$$$ was made on a rigid heddle loom and is part of my “Loom & Doom” series. The weft is made from various shades of white, gray, red, black, and tan plastic shopping bags, green and clear latex gloves, bound together with a gray and black warp.
